First Daisy Scout Meeting

Mallory was very fancy for her first Daisy Girl Scout meeting this afternoon. She wore her royal gloves and several bracelets.  We had expected her to be able to wear her uniform, but UPS lost our package.  I will spare you the tangent that I could get on.  I will say that Girl Scouts is sending us a new uniform free of charge.

Mallory had fun at her first meeting and earned two badges. Way to go Mallory!  She didn't enjoy doing the math to earn the badges, but had fun do everything else.  Each girl has a job to do and Mallory's job was to hold the American Flag when the Pledge of Allegiance was said.

Asher's Soccer Game

Trey is out of town this week and Tricia asked if I could help her out this evening.  Asher and Brinley both had soccer games at the same time tonight.  The girls and I took Asher to his game.  They didn't win, but they played well.  As Tricia and I both told Asher "You can't win them all."

Mallory and me about to watch the game

Mallory standing behind Asher while he wasn't on the field. Both girls yelled and cheered for Asher.  He was the only one with cheerleaders. Mallory and  Maggie had so much fun.

Heading back to the car to go home.

Mallory lost ANOTHER Tooth

Two teeth in less than two weeks.  We knew this bottom tooth was loose, but had no clue it would fall out so quickly.  Mallory was eating an apple before church this morning and came in and said "Mom!!!  Guess what I found in my mouth???"  Of course I had zero clue and she said her tooth.  Apparently one bite of the apple made the tooth really loose and she wiggled it with her tongue.  Next thing she knew the tooth was underneath her tongue!

We wrote this note to the Tooth Fairy.  She brought more dust and another $2.  Mallory is about to be rich!

Maggie and the Carousel

Maggie and I went and met by friend Elizabeth, and her son Brady, for lunch today.  We ate at the Frisco Mall so I let Maggie have a ride on the carousel. She had the best time and I look this fabulous picture of her.

Home Renovation Before and After

When Matt and I built this house, we chose a light colored carpet that went well with our paint choice.  At the time, we had NO idea what a bad decision that was.  Two dogs, two kids, and five and a half years later the carpet was NASTY.  It didn't matter how we cleaned it, the spots came back.  We decided to take the plunge and replace the carpet and the tile (1150 square feet of tile was torn out of this house) and replaced it with tile that looks like wood.  Our neighbors gave us a heads up of what we were about to embark on, but neither of us realized how LONG (FOUR WEEKS) this would take.  In the end, it was well worth it and we LOVE the floors.  Here are before, taken in January 2010 when we first moved in and the house was spotless,  and now.

Before the tile was put down, we went ahead and painted it the new color.  Here is a picture of our new buffet table that I purchased and we are in the process of getting all new furniture.  It will be here in about six weeks - having a custom table made.

We changed the tile around the fireplace and repainted the wall as well.  Currently in the process of updating the mantle focal piece.

Maggie's Canopy Bed

It should come as no surprise that Maggie too wanted a canopy bed.  Matt helped make one for her as well. Since she has a daybed (and we didn't have any more brooms/mops to use) he was clever and used a play baby bed set.  Several binder clips were used as well.  The actual canopy is a snuggie blanket.

Mallory's Fancy Nancy Canopy Bed

As I have stated before, Mallory is a huge fan of the Fancy Nancy books.  One thing Nancy has done is make her bed a canopy bed.  She does so by using brooms and a sheet.  Mallory wanted to do the same and Matt helped her make it possible.  She loved it!!!

First First Grade Lunch With Mallory

I had a room mom meeting this morning one street over from the school.  When it let out, it was just about time for Mallory's lunch break.  Maggie and I decided to go over and surprise her.  I also needed to talk to Mrs. Oldner so we killed two birds with one stone.

Tricia was lunch room helper today and she took this cute picture of Mallory and Asher. I am sooo glad that they are friends.  (We meet the Clifton's last summer when walking around the neighborhood.  This year, Mallory and Asher are in the same class.)
