Blase Family Farm

I recently found a Groupon for a pumpkin farm not too far from our house in Rockwall.  Matt took the day off, I packed us a sack lunch, and we headed out for some fun.

We had fun feeding the goats until one got unruly and bit both Mallory and me.

Mallory and Maggie enjoyed playing in the hay.  It was supposed to be a mini hay maze, but it was pretty beaten up. They had fun so that is all that matters.

  

We then walked up the hill and went on an actual hay ride. The girls really enjoyed it.  After the hay ride we had our sack lunch at the picnic tables.  (Everything was shaded so that made it extra nice!)  Here are some pics of the girls having more fun.  We will definitely have to come back next year.

Funny Things From This Summer

I'm not very good at capturing all the funny things that go on, but here are a few that I was able to.

Mallory always hopes for the race car cart at Target. )There is nothing race car about it, but it reminds her of the ones at Lowe's.)  Today, Mallory spotted this cart sitting outside so I ran to get it. I couldn't dare walk to get it...what if another mom was eyeing it too! This cart allows the girls to sit next to one another and it has room for all our friends that travel with us to Target.  Here they all are today - Mallory, Doll, Pink Baby, and Maggie.

I was working on my packing list for New York and Mallory asked if she could make a to-do list like I always do. This is what hers looks like.

"If I lie here real still will Mama think I'm one of Mallory's dolls?  If so, maybe I won't have to take a nap!"

First Creative Movement Class

This past May Mallory requested that she take a summer break from gymnastics class.  We discussed it and said we would talk about it again in August.  She still didn't want to go back, so I checked to see what classes were available at the Wylie Rec Center.  I found a creative movement class that both the girls could participate in.

Here they are waiting for the class to begin. Maggie was so excited to wear a leotard.  The girls get to run around, play games, while also learning things like colors and counting.   

I don't even think this looks like Maggie.  She looks way to grown up with her hair this way.

Mooshy Monster Maggie

Last Christmas, Mallory received a cute looking stuffed monster thingy that you color/draw on and then wash when you want to re-color it.  When she colors "Mooshy Monster" she always wants him to have glasses. This evening when I was washing dinner dishes, Mallory decided to make Maggie her new "Mooshy Monster."  I only look up when Mallory calls my name and says "look, I gave Maggie glasses. She is ready for carnival!"

Lunch Date with Maggie

Maggie and I really never get to do anything by ourselves. Mallory was at pre-k today so I decided to take Maggie to lunch. About thirty minutes before we were going to head out, she was hungry (of course). Maggie had lunch at home and then we headed to Walmart.   Before we left, she went to Mallory's room to grab a purse to take with her.  

After our errand there we headed over to Chick-fil-a. She had ice cream and I enjoyed my nuggets and fries.  I love her smile! She was so happy and had such a great time.  After eating half her ice cream, she pointed to the kids area and motioned that she wanted to go play.  She went down the "lide," several times and then we headed out.

4 1/2 Years Old

Yesterday Mallory started Pre-K and today she turned four and a half. All I can say is WOW!  For lunch we celebrated with the traditional half birthday meal: pancakes with sprinkles and a side of bacon.  Mallory received a little something special from us too;  little Princess Sophia doll that she has been wanting for several months now.  I asked if I may take a picture of her with the doll and she said no.

I thought about writing what all Mallory likes and does as I always do, but this time I decided to let her fill in the blanks.  Not quite sure about all the answers, but this is what she told me her :favorites are right now

First Day of Pre-K and MDO

Today was the first day of school for the new year. Mallory started Pre-K at Wylie UMC and Maggie began another year of MDO at FBC Wylie.  Here are some cute pictures of the girls before we headed out the door.  Mallory chose to wear a dress that Mammy and Guy Guy bought her. For Maggie, I picked out this cute dress that Grandma and Papa Nick gave her.

I love this picture.  Mallory wanted to show her sister some love (without being asked) and Maggie's face is priceless. Those eyes look like they are saying "WHAT????"

Our first stop was to drop Maggie off at MDO. She did great until it was time to walk into the classroom. I put my hand on her back to gently push her into the room and it was like her feet were glued to the floor. She refused to budge.  Her teacher finally had to pick her up and move her into the room...and then the bawling started.  I felt so bad for her, but I had to leave fast because now I had to get Mallory to school.

On the way there, I reminder her how much fun she had last year and this would be a good year too.  I was having to convince myself that it would be a good year too.  Mallory rarely wants to go to school and gets upset on school days. She wants to be home with me instead.  I think that is so sweet and loving, but I get so tired of having to deal with her whining every Tuesday and Thursday. Next year is going to be crazy when she has to go to school FIVE days a week!

Mallory did really well when I dropped her off. She was a little shy, but she walked right in.
