Halloween

Before I even start talking about Halloween, let me say this - Matt is a trooper!

For Halloween, Maggie decided that she wanted to be Cubby from Jake and the Neverland Pirates, but of course there is no costume for it.  Not that it really matters since she won't wear a costume.  Then she decided to be Izzy from the same show, but said she wouldn't wear a costume.  I told her that we could make her a costume that wouldn't be itchy (from items we already have) yet she wasn't sure about it.  I then let her know if she didn't dress up that she wouldn't get to go get candy.  She decided to dress up knowing she may miss some candy.

I suggested to Mallory that she should wear her Tinkerbell costume since Maggie was going to be Izzy.  Mallory didn't want to be Tink at first, but I mentioned that I would be Wendy and her dad could be Peter Pan.  Saying that Matt would be Peter Pan sealed the deal for Mallory to be Tinkerbell.  Needless to say when I told Matt this he gave me the stink eye and thought the idea was terrible.  I promised him no tights and said "please do this for your girls!!!!!"  He did.  Have I mentioned that Matt is a trooper?

Before trick-or-treating,  Sam and Aunt Betty come over for dinner.  After dinner, Grandma and Papa Nick came over to pass out candy so we could all go trick-or-treating together.

We couldn't go without Everly and Ethan Berry.  Here are all the kids - Maggie, Ethan, Everly, Sam, and Mallory

Now You See It, Now You Don't

So Mallory has had a loose tooth for a while and it just recently became very loose.  Ever since watching an episode of Peppa the Pig where Peppa looses a tooth Mallory has been wiggling her tooth as much as possible.

Here are two pictures of the tooth still in.  The very loose tooth is the center bottom right tooth.  You can tell there is a good space between it and the tooth to the right.  That is due to the loose tooth barely hanging on. I have told Mallory please don't wiggle it at school because I really want to be there when the tooth comes out.  Plus, I don't want her to loose (literally) the tooth before she gets home.  I let her know the tooth fairy can't come if there is no tooth.

Fast forward to today.  What do you see, but a big hole in Mallory's mouth.  She came home from school today and I really don't know how the tooth was still attached to her mouth.  I asked her if I could pull it and she said no because it would hurt.  I convinced her to let me dry the tooth with a kleenex and just wiggle it and see. Mallory said I could, but I could only wiggle it once.  (Um, okay...)  I dried the tooth and gave it one good yank (whoops) and out it came.  She didn't really even feel it and it bled just a little. Mallory was so excited.  We decorated a little box and put the tooth under her pillow.  The tooth fairy brought her two, $1 gold coins.

UNT Football Game

Tonight we took the girls to their first UNT football game.  They were pretty bored at first, but once  I bought them some pom poms everything changed.  Matt even wore a green shirt to support the Mean Green.  Unfortunately, we lost to Mississippi. :(

Ethan Berry was happy though.

Fun With Maggie

People ask me from time to time "What do you do all day?"  I am going to go ahead and say that this is one of the most annoying questions.  Being a mom, maid, accountant, etc is a full time job.  Thankfully I do have some help.

Meet my housekeeping assistant - Maggie.  She is a wonderful  help and the best part is...she loves to clean and wants the house to be tidy.  Cleaning the house is fun to her!  Maggie is great at dusting, moping, spritzing (she sprays the cleaner or windex) and mopping.  One thing Maggie doesn't like is having her picture taken unless she asks for you to take it.  Below are two pictures of her mopping.

Maggie is also very good with Harold.  Sometimes a little too good and he has bitten her.  She likes to get in his face and Harold is against that 110%.  Today, he gave in and let her put Minnie Mouse bow lights on him.  Does he look happy or what?  I love Maggie's smile in this picture - needless to say this was a time she wanted her picture taken.

First Day at In-Sync Exotics

Today was my first day to volunteer at In-Sync.  I was assisgned to work with Melissa Baker in "Chuffin Park."  This is a large encloser with Tigers on each end.  One end houses two sister and a brother - Pepsi, Athena, and Ukidi. The other end houses Stryker, Cinncinnati, Serena, Mystery, and Salem.  Our job was the clean each encloser and the walkways. What does that entail?

1- make sure there is no dried meat on the fences or top of their houses
2- pick up all poop and if it has stained the concrete use bleach to get it up
3- look under all toys to make sure there aren't bone fragments on top of their houses or on the floor
4 - pressure wash the inside of their houses and the remainder of the encloser
5 - replinish water if it is nasty and get out any grass or dead bugs
6- spray the inside of their houses to prevent mosquitos
7- clean the walkways and make sure they are free of debree

A lot goes into cleaning the encloses for this amazing animals.  I had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back.  I will say sometimes it stinks (literally), but I can deal with that.

Here is a picture of Cincinnati on the playground.  You can't help but fall in love with his sweet face.

Another pic of Cincinnati just hanging out in his "room."

These pictures are of Salem.  He was picking up this huge disk and dragging it.

This is his stop staring at me and taking pictures of me look.

Plano Balloon Festival

The Plano Balloon Festival was this weekend and the girls really wanted to see hot air balloons.  I won't pay to go to this festival because the two times we have the balloons never launched due to wind.  Earlier in the week, I let Mallory and Maggie know that hopefully we could some balloons from the neighbors backyard.  (Before the houses were built to the west of us we could see the ballons.)

Now let's fast forward to this weekend.  The girls and I were up early Saturday morning and had on Fox news.  The reporter stated that the balloons were heading back to the park.  I thought the drive is 10 minutes down the road, let's go!!!  We all went to the bathroom, ran out to get in the Tahoe, and hurried down to the park.  As we arrived the balloons were just coming back.  I pulled off onto a side street and we had a great time.

This balloon flew right over us and was pretty low to the ground. We got to see them pull the fire string (or whatever it is called) to give it some more gas (so to speak).

I wanted to take a picture of the girls with the balloons in the background and this is the best I could get.  Mallory decided it was funny face day.

Three Years Old

Oh Maggie!  Let me start this post off by telling you that I am sorry.  I am sorry that I am just now getting around to doing this blog post and it is now September 3rd.  We have had a lot of fun since May and I can't remember tons of stuff that happened closer to you turning three.   I'm going to tell you about yourself right now.

You LOVE your sister!  You want to be everywhere she is and last week was so hard for you.  Mallory went to kindergarten and you had a very hard time adjusting.  This week is much better.

You have the sweetest smile and most of the time you have the sweetest spirit.  I have noticed in the past month you are starting to really test your limits and see if you can get away with not obeying.  I won't lie, I have been lax this summer, but not anymore.  You know that it is your job to obey your parents and we discuss Ephesians 6:1 often.

You want to do many things by yourself unlike Mallory at your age - bathe, brush teeth, dress, lock up your car seat.

You love your family so much and want to be with us all the time.  Your favorite little friends are Lilah and Violet Collins.

Your favorites:
color - blue
thing - the moon (you love to find it and point it out. You go crazy when you can see it during the day and you always say "we saw that moon if roar-ida aka florida)
show- paw patrol

words you mispronounce that are so cute: de-wish-ous (delicious), why-cycle (tricycle)

Your stats:
weight: 32 lbs, 12 oz (71st percentile)
height: 36.75 inches (43rd percentile)
